Welcome to Tiger Tor Dressage

About us
Tiger Tor Dressage is a private training and production yard based near Yelverton on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. Founded and led by Sue Langley BHSII, Grand Prix Trainer. We specialise in producing horses to the highest level — taking on talented, challenging or unrecognised horses and developing their full potential through patient, correct and sympathetic training.
We are a small, personal operation. Sue is the yard, the trainer and the expertise. Every horse in our care receives her direct attention, and every training plan is built around that individual horse and rider.

Whether you're looking for training, specialist livery, coaching or a horse produced to compete, you're in the right place.

My story
I'm Sue. Horses chose me before I could choose them. There's a photograph of me at three years old, already on the back of one, and I don't remember a time when that felt anything other than completely natural.
Six decades later, that instinct is still what drives everything at Tiger Tor. From flat racing yards in Newmarket to dressage arenas across the South West, from breaking wild horses on Welsh mountainsides to competing at Grand Prix level, the thread running through all of it has been the same: patience, feel, and an absolute conviction that the difficult horses are usually the most interesting ones.

Coached by the best
I owe my success at Grand prix to many coaches and contributors, most recently these:

Nicky Du Plessis
Nicky is a BD Ukcc level 3 qualified coach, a List 2 and para dressage judge. Now retired after spending 30 years working in the Equine department at Duchy College, she has coached beginners to advanced level throughout these years. An active member of BD since 1975 competing regularly and has ridden to PSG.
She is now the Senior Training Rep and the Coaching Rep for the South & West BD Committee.

Damian Hallam
Damian was recently named one of the TOP 5 Dressage Coaches in the UK & announced as Coach of the Year 2024 in the South & West regions by BD. As a rider he has competed to GP & won over 15 National Champs & a silver medal for GB at the World YH Champs.

Adam Kemp F.B.H.S.
Adam Kemp FBHS trained at the legendary Talland School of Equitation under Pammy Hutton, competing internationally and winning national titles at every level including Grand Prix. With decades of experience training horses and riders from Pony Club to Olympic level, Adam brings unrivalled expertise and infectious enthusiasm to every lesson.

Anne-Sylvie Krapf
Ann-Sylvie brings a rare international perspective to Tiger Tor, trained by Olympic riders and classical masters including Georg Wahl of the Vienna Riding School. A former head instructor in Portugal working with Lusitanos, her background in special needs education gives her exceptional skill in tailoring training to every horse and rider.
